Spring 2017 Season Review

CAK had a fantastic spring season with league and tournament success at the Premier and Select levels.

CAK Select

  • CAK Select had a fantastic spring season! 12 of our 14 CAK Select teams made it to the GAASA playoffs! Congrats to our 03 Girls team and the 07 Blue, 06 Blue and 06 White boys teams who were crowned GAASA Champions! Our 03 Blue and 08 White team were finalists, while our 07 Navy and 05 Girls teams and the 08 Blue, 07 White, 05 Blue, and 04 Blue boys made it to the semis! Great job boys and girls!!!
  • The 05 Blue team lead by coaches Mullen and Talkington won the Medina Invitational Tournament.

CAK Premier & High School

  • State Cup: CAK Premier improved upon the previous year, once again! This is our 3rd year competing at state cup with a record 9 teams from CAK including our first girls’ team. We were 7th in the state in number of games played in the tournament and this is the first year we qualified teams to the semi-finals!
  • Nike Cup: CAK Premier U9s, 12s, U13s, U15s and U18s all went undefeated during the weekend.
  • Warrior Classic: CAK Premier U19 Girls won CAK’s 1st girls tournament title.  The U11, U14, U16 Boys were crowned champions and the U15 boys were finalists.
  • MRL: The U16 Boys became the first CAK MRL team and competed against teams from all over the Midwest while finishing with a 3-1-3 record!

CAK Academy

The players within the Spring academy showed significant growth in the basic concepts of the game.  From the bumble-ball that we saw in the first week, to the structured passing of the last week was truly impressive.  The players that aspire to move to the select program in the Fall have proven that they are capable of the jump.  Academy Director Alan Miller looks forward to this Fall season, where he can refine the skills of the older players, and welcome a new batch of players.
